WHY SOLO?

Independence or side by side paddling, light weight,......and PURE FUN!

Solo 13 and 14

Solo 13-14...Compact, light and strikingly beautiful canoes with a tucked in center section and detailed lines molded in to the bow and stern. Nimble on the water, these boats are a delight to paddle. A joy on small twisty creeks- yet with flared bow and sides, they easily handle light whitewater and choppy lakes. Great for small paddlers, but won't let the 200 pounders down either. Discover the ultimate pleasure in canoeing: Solo paddling in a Solo 13 or 14 by MOHAWK .

Some Testimonials on our Solo Canoes

Hello Mohawk Canoes,

I just had to write to tell you how pleased I am with my new Odyssey 14. I have two tandem canoes, which I can paddle alone, but had wanted a true solo boat for years. After much researching of information, as well as my pocketbook, I decided on the Mohawk Odyssey 14.

I purchased it last fall, (shipping process was surprisingly easy) and was only able to take it out a few times before our very long, rough winter hit. This past weekend, with warm spring time temperatures and good water levels, I entered a downriver race with my Odyssey. It was my first canoe race, although I have paddled Class II whitewater, with a companion in my other tandem boat.

Arriving at the starting area, with the Mohawk on top, I had many veteran racers admire my boat. "Nice boat!"... "I really like the Mohawk!" ... "I paddled one yesterday, and I loved it!" (This is in New England, mind you.) Instead of feeling intimidated, I felt more confident---apparently, Mohawk canoes have a good reputation with the river racers. This race was on a small, twisty river, with pushy Class I rapids. I was VERY pleased with my ability to turn this boat. I raced in the OC-2 category, since the novice division did not have an OC-1, and I still managed to beat some tandem boats, as well as a male solo racer in a Wenonah.

Thank you for making such a good boat at such a reasonable price.

Sincerely,
Emily Huntington

Just a quick note.

Couldn't be more pleased with the Mohawk (Sport) canoe that I
purchased. I was concerned about buying this canoe sight-unseen. Just
being able to reach out and touch a real canoe in the showroom makes a
difference.

However, the advice I got from Craig and others made all the
difference. The shipping company, Averitt,  was also very helpful too.
They were open 24/7 for pick-up and they unpacked and helped me load it.
The man had even fished the Clinch River, which is where I plan on
putting 100,000 river miles on the Mohawk Sport.

The canoe is perfect: it's the exact color I wanted, its light
so I can load it myself, and it's extremely maneuverable. I floated the
Clinch last week. Early morning mist was still rising from the cold
water released from Norris dam. It just looked like magic. The blue
sky and billowing clouds reflected in the water as a mirror image. The
water was perfectly clear. The canoe was extremely stable as a fly
casting platform. What can I say, it was a great day. It must be
great to be a company that makes dreams come true!

Thanks!

The canoe was in great shape and it made it here in two days! The freight cost was right on the money and the packing job withstood a couple of beats, but didn't break though both layers of cardboard. I paddled it the next day and it was well worth the upgrade to a Solo 14. I like the new features you have added to your canoes. like the molded deck, seat design and the thwart, I think the new style of thwart was a great addition. And for those who might think red is too much, they don't know what they are missing, my red canoe is by far the sharpest canoe I have seen on the water.

Between a friend of mine and myself we now have three Mohawk solo canoes and one Nova 16. I recommend your canoes to anyone that asks. I am very happy with your product, and keep up the good work.

Just bought a canoe from you and everything went great. Good doing business with ya! The trucking company was very friendly and also helped load it. (that was very nice). Just thought I'd send you a thank you for everything going so smooth.

Just wanted to drop a line and tell you all how much I've enjoyed my new
Odyssey 14. It got here in just two days, I couldn't believe it was so
fast! I had the entire next week off and paddled almost every day. I was
very impressed with the boats stability and handling. I ran some mild
whitewater and did a lot of fishing. You all make a great boat and sell it
at an even better price! I have recommended your boats to all of my
friends.

Thanks,

I wanted to drop you a line to let you know how much I enjoy the Odyssey 15 I purchased last summer. I have gotten much use out of it and continue to get on the river even in this cold weather in the pursuit of Walleye, deer and ducks. I so enjoy the boat I recommend you guys to all I know interested in a new boat. Keep up the good work!

Just picked up my Solo 13...what a delightful little
boat. I thought I'd be prejudiced by my Bell canoe
but this is truly a fun nicely crafted and designed
canoe. Thank you for your prompt service.

Hi Mohawk folks,

My Mohawk Solo14 arrived yesterday and just want to say thanks for your help.
(I was the one whose parents stopped in from Maine.) Of course, I headed
for the closest pond to try it out and I love it! I was a little concerned
about the length - Solo14 vs. Solo13 - because I'm a small paddler (5'2"
110lbs). No problem though. It paddles and maneuvers like a charm. I'm
very pleased. I think it will be great as a freestyle boat, plus it should
be able to handle overnight trips with mild whitewater... a very versatile
boat and just what I was looking for to add to my "flotilla" (this boat makes
6 total...3 of which are Mohawks).

Thanks again Mohawk folks!

Thank you for your prompt attention to my order and for the refund for overpayment. I've taken my new Odyssey out on the Lehigh River and am very pleased.

Dear Mohawk Canoes:

I just wanted to take a minute to let you know how much I have enjoyed
ordering a factory-direct canoe from you. Really, it was less trouble
than buying one from a shop and certainly faster than ordering one
through a shop. I ordered it via mail about 2 weeks ago, and it arrived
at the terminal Friday. I picked it up the same day it arrived from
American Freightways, who had no problem letting me inspect it. (They
even had two guys in case I needed help loading it.) The process was
very smooth, and I am looking forward to my first paddle in my new
Odessey tomorrow or the next day.

Thanks,

Matt Short
