The Nova has a sharper entry at the waterline for better flatwater performance(above). The  blunter entry of the  Intrepid allows for better resistance to impact damage in a whitewater situation.


The more rockered ends of the Intrepid (below) allow for easier turning  in moving water, while the less rockered ends of  the Nova allow better tracking in flatwater.
